Learning English will certainly feel boring without variations in
its learning methods, the students of course need something else or new to
refresh the atmosphere in the classroom. In collaboration with LEAD (Language,
Education, and Arts Development) from Bandung west java, we brought friends
from various countries to provide a different experience in learning English to
the students in the classroom.
LEAD is an institution aiming to promote better English learning by
connecting students to our global friends, inviting the English speakers from
around the globe to be our friends.
The activities are designed to provide opportunities for students to
use their English skills to communicate with people from abroad on positive
topics.
On November 5th, 2024, our beloved school SD Edu Global
Cirebon, for the first time received global friend from Pakistan, his name is
Mr. Ali. Accompanied by a facilitator named Mr. Hafidz, their arrival was to
provide additional activities in learning English directly from other
countries.
The first impression gained from the students was, of course, that
they were happy because of the arrival of teachers from other countries, some
of them even immediately asked where he came from, which was answered
enthusiastically by Mr. Ali.
Mr. Ali tried to start the activity by introducing himself first,
then in turn the students also mentioned their names one by one. Then, making
the students feel comfortable is by doing ice breaking, namely singing and
dancing together following the song played in the video. This activity of
course makes them feel relaxed.
Teaching the students of elementary must be accordance with their
level, for the first grade Mr. Ali asked the student to count from one to
twenty with the spelling method as well. After that, a game was held to make
the class more cheerful.
For about an hour, Mr. Ali provided fun activities that made the
students’ learning experience livelier. We are grateful and thankful for his
visit to our beloved school. Hope that next
meeting the others global friends will be coming soon.
