Two gold and three silver medals at the 2026 national-level championship, all won by young pencak silat athletes from the same school.
SD Edu Global Cirebon - Cirebon, West Java 8 October 2026
SD Edu Global Cirebon has new achievements to celebrate. Five of its students earned medals at the Kesultanan Kanoman Cirebon Championship, a national-level competition held in 2026. Shawqi and Azzuhra each won a gold medal, while Galih, Zara and Raden each took home silver.
All five students are members of Perisai Diri, the pencak silat school where they train outside of class hours. Five medals from one school at a national event reflects the time they have put into practice, alongside their regular studies.
A championship with a local name
The championship is named after Kesultanan Kanoman, one of the historic royal courts of Cirebon. A national event carrying that name gives young athletes from across the country a reason to visit the city, and gives local students a chance to compete on home ground against opponents from elsewhere.
Two gold, three silver, one school, one martial art.
Why this matters for the school
Pencak silat asks for more than strength. Athletes need discipline, patience and respect for their coaches and opponents. These are habits that carry into the classroom, and they are part of what a school hopes children develop in their early years.
The medals also show what happens when a student's interest outside school is encouraged at home and at school. For Shawqi, Azzuhra, Galih, Zara and Raden, the championship is one more step in their training. For their classmates, it is a close-to-home example of what steady practice can achieve.
Congratulations
SD Edu Global Cirebon congratulates all five students on their results, and thanks their families and their Perisai Diri coaches for supporting them. We look forward to following their next competitions.
